Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA)

IACRA is the web-based certification/rating application that guides the user through the FAA's airman application process. IACRA helps ensure applicants meet regulatory and policy requirements through the use of extensive data validation. It also uses electronic signatures to protect the information's integrity, eliminates paper forms, and prints temporary certificates.

warning Important Notice - FIRC Renewal Missing Ratings Issue
If you notice instructor ratings missing from the Certificate Summary section of a FIRC application, do not submit the application until you do the following: Reload the page (press the F5 key or click the browser's reload icon,) then verify the instructor ratings are correct. This issue will be fixed soon as possible.

What's new in IACRA

IACRA Version 8.12

This release contains the following changes:

Application Section

  • NEW!  The Flight Instructor Renewal based on Flight Instructor Refresher Course has been implemented in the enhanced version of IACRA. Applicants may now sign the application prior to submitting the application to the Certifying Officers, eliminating the face to face identity check.
  • NEW!  Certification for Flight Instructor based on Military Competency (original, added category and renewal) is now available in IACRA.

Certifying Officers

  • NEW!  The Certifying Officer may now view the temporary summary at any time during the checklist.

Q. What is the FTN?
A. The FTN (FAA Tracking Number) is assigned to you by the FAA after you complete your registration in IACRA. Please record your FTN as it will be required later by your instructor and/or certifying officer.
