Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA)

IACRA is the web-based certification/rating application that guides the user through the FAA's airman application process. IACRA helps ensure applicants meet regulatory and policy requirements through the use of extensive data validation. It also uses electronic signatures to protect the information's integrity, eliminates paper forms, and prints temporary certificates.

Recurrent UAS The recurrent UAS (remote pilot) process does not require a new application or a new certificate. UAS certificate holders can refer to the Becoming a Pilot page for recurrent information.

DMS for IACRA roles DE, ACR and ACR FIRC

Next week, IACRA will begin integration with the Designee Management System (DMS) for all Group II designees (DMS designee types DPE, SAE & Admin-PE). IACRA will have the following changes for DMS:
  • The roles ACR and ACR FIRC will be REQUIRED to have a DMS Designee Number to perform any certifying officer actions for those roles. For the DE role, most activities will also require a DMS Designee Number, unless the DE only processes Aircraft dispatcher applications.
  • The DMS Designee Number is NOT the number used previously (which was usually a form of your airman certificate number.) This number will replace the old number on all IACRA forms.
  • Most designees will have their DMS Designee Number prepopulated in IACRA, but some will not, so have your DMS Designee number ready when you first log into IACRA.
  • Group II designees will also start obtaining a pre-approval number from DMS prior to completing most IACRA applications, and that pre-approval number will be entered into IACRA, where available. Please include the entire pre-approval number (including dashes) in IACRA.
  • IACRA will validate designee authorizations using DMS.
