Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA)

IACRA is the web-based certification/rating application that guides the user through the FAA's airman application process. IACRA helps ensure applicants meet regulatory and policy requirements through the use of extensive data validation. It also uses electronic signatures to protect the information's integrity, eliminates paper forms, and prints temporary certificates.

Recurrent UAS The recurrent UAS (remote pilot) process does not require a new application or a new certificate. UAS certificate holders can refer to the Becoming a Pilot page for recurrent information.

warning Designee Management System
For DMS Users : If you are experiencing issues accessing IACRA or retrieving an application, please verify the DMS Designee Number shown in your IACRA user profile. If the number is correct, please review your DMS account to make sure your designation is in active status and you have the correct authorizations on your CLOA. If you find something missing, please contact your managing specialist.

What's new in IACRA
IACRA has been integrated with the Designee Management System (DMS) for all Group II designees (DE, ACR & ACR FIRC). The following changes have been made in IACRA for DMS:
  • ACRs and ACR FIRCs are now REQUIRED to have a DMS Designee Number to perform any certifying officer actions for those roles. Most DE activities also require a DMS Designee Number, unless the DE only processes Aircraft dispatcher applications. The DMS Designee Number is NOT the same number that was used before (and was usually a form of your airman certificate number). This number can only be obtained by registering in DMS
  • When searching an applicant's applications, the validation messages have been updated to reflect the necessary DMS authorizations required to process any given application.
  • Group II designees should also start obtaining a pre-approval number from DMS prior to completing most IACRA applications, and that pre-approval number should be entered into IACRA, where available. This number is currently optional, but will become mandatory in the future. The format of this number is 'PR-'(your DMS designee number)-(year)-(sequence number). For example, PR-123456789-2019-0001' Please include the entire pre-approval number (including dashes) in IACRA.
  • If a DMS Group II Designee processes an application, (excluding Aircraft Dispatcher), a DMS Number and expiration date will be displayed on the signature line of the IACRA generated form.
