Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA)

IACRA is the web-based certification/rating application that guides the user through the FAA's airman application process. IACRA helps ensure applicants meet regulatory and policy requirements through the use of extensive data validation. It also uses electronic signatures to protect the information's integrity, eliminates paper forms, and prints temporary certificates.

IACRA is currently experiencing a serious problem signing and viewing documents.
Please DO NOT attempt to sign applications until the problem is resolved. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve the problem.

What's new in IACRA

IACRA Version 8.10

This release contains the following changes:

Form Changes
  • Form 8710-1 - The IACRA equivalent of the 8710-1 was updated to match the revised 8710-1 (dated 8/2014).Important ATP Note: Use the Simulator Hours fields for FFS (Full Flight Simulator)
  • Form 8400-3 - The practical test section of the IACRA equivalent of the 8400-3 was revised to match the current 8400-3.
Certifying Officers
  • Upload Documents - Certifying Officers may upload applicant documents such as Graduation Certificates, Foreign Verification letters and other relevant documents.
  • View Signed Applications by Region - Aviation Safety Inspectors will now have the ability to view applications signed by Designees within their region.
Application Section
  • New Mailing Address Section - There is a new section for the applicant’s Mailing Address (Block E2 on the revised 8710-1) in the Registration and application section of IACRA. If the mailing address is entered, it will be printed on the temporary certificate, the Student certificate and on the permanent airman certificate.
  • Medical Certificates - Military Medical Certificates can now be entered in the application section.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is a PTRS automatically generated when an application is processed through IACRA? Do the DE's have to print something to send to the FSDO's?
A. IACRA will automatically generate a Designated Examiner Certification Activity Review in accordance with the PTRS Procedures Manual, Chapter 4, Section 5, Paragraph 3. The DE will not have to send anything to the FSDO. Currently ATP CFTR 61, 121, 135 and 141 certificates will automatically generate PTRS records for Avi ....Read more
