IACRA - Help and Information

USAS Info

A U.S. Agent for Service designation is required for Individuals who only have a foreign address and have previously obtained or are in the process of obtaining a certificate or rating in accordance with 14 CFR Parts 47, §61, §63, §65, §67, or §107.

The Agent will receive important documents on behalf of the applicant or certificate holder for situations such as:

 •              Enforcement action letters, notices, and orders

•              Reexamination letters

•              Letters of investigation

•              Letters requesting additional information or denying a medical certificate; and

•              Notices to aircraft owners of ineffective or invalid aircraft registration

The US Agent for Service information should not be used as an applicant’s residential or physical address.  It should only be captured in the US Agent for Service portal.  A certificate that is issued will still be mailed to an applicant at their designated foreign address providing the Registry can confirm that they have provided a US Agent for Service in the USAS Portal.

CURRENT CERTIFICATE HOLDERS WITH ONLY A FOREIGN ADDRESS ON RECORD AND NO AVAILABLE UNITED STATES ADDRESS:

Designate your US Agent for Service by visiting the USAS Portal.

Airmen may be required to provide their FAA Tracking Number (FTN) and date of birth (DOB).  An Existing Certificate holder's FTN can be found via Airmen Online Services, MedXPress, or on their IACRA user console.

CURRENT CERTIFICATE HOLDERS WITH ONLY A FOREIGN ADDRESS ON RECORD – UPDATING TO A UNITED STATES ADDRESS OR ADDNG A UNITED STATES ADDRESS:

Please visit Airmen Online Services.  Registration with the USAS Portal would not be required since the Registry will now have a United States address.

IMPORTANT:  Updating your address information in your IACRA profile will NOT transfer the address information to the Registry unless an application is being submitted to the Registry for a new certificate or rating. If you are only updating your address and not applying for a certificate or rating, the address update must be reported through Airmen Online Services.

CURRENT CERTIFICATE HOLDERS WITH A FOREIGN ADDRESS AND ALSO A UNITED STATES ADDRESS ON RECORD:

The US Agent for Service registration process does not apply.  No updates are required.

NEW APPLICANTS OR CERTIFICATE HOLDERS ADDING TO AN EXISTING CERTIFICATE  –  COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN IACRA:

When completing a new application in IACRA, if you provide a United States address as well as a foreign address, nothing additional will be needed.

If you only provide a foreign address, IACRA will link you to the USAS Portal to allow you to enter your US Agent for Service designation.  The USAS designation information will not appear in your IACRA profile or on your Airmen Online Services account.
